MilCIS 2026 ADPR 728x90pxTurkish defence technology company ASELSAN, in collaboration with drone manufacturer Baykar, has successfully completed a live-fire test of its TOLUN-P precision-guided bunker-busting munition. Launched from a Bayraktar AKINCI Unmanned Combat Aerial Vehicle (UCAV), the 250-pound class weapon achieved direct impact against a fortified target, proving its ability to neutralise heavily defended battlefield infrastructure with surgical precision.

Following the successful test flight, ASELSAN confirmed that the TOLUN-P system is officially mission-ready, giving military operators a flight-proven, combat-ready solution for standoff precision engagement against hardened structures, armored assets, and high-value strategic installations. The TOLUN-P was developed specifically to address the tactical challenge of heavily fortified targets—including subterranean command bunkers, reinforced aircraft shelters, hardened ammunition depots, and concrete-protected communications centres.

Despite its compact 250-pound footprint, the munition delivers deep-strike penetration power typically associated with much larger gravity bombs. Engineered with a high-density, specialised penetration nose cone and high kinetic energy impact profile, TOLUN-P can breach up to one meter (39.4 inches) of reinforced concrete prior to warhead detonation. At the core of TOLUN-P’s operational capabilities is an integrated Global Navigation Satellite System / Inertial Navigation System (GNSS/INS) suite. This hybrid guidance system allows the munition to navigate mid-course waypoints around terrain and hostile air defense envelopes before delivering a terminal dive onto its target coordinates.

To maximise terminal lethality inside target structures, TOLUN-P utilises a cockpit-programmable electronic fuze system. Aircrew or ground drone pilots can configure the warhead’s delay timing in real time shortly before weapon release. This dynamic programming ensures the warhead penetrates deep into subterranean floors or reinforced walls before triggering, maximising internal overpressure and structural collapse.

A key advantage demonstrated during the test campaign is TOLUN-P’s integration with ASELSAN’s SADAK-4T Multiple Ejector Rack. Instead of dedicating a hardpoint to a single heavy bomb, the SADAK-4T smart rack allows aircraft to carry up to four TOLUN series munitions on a single wing pylon.
