Land Forces 2026BlackSky Technology won an international seven-figure, multi-year contract for combined Assured and On-Demand subscriptions. Following a successful initial pilot, the customer quickly signed an expanded deal for integrated, low-latency Gen-2 and Gen-3 imagery and AI-enabled analytics services.

“BlackSky continues to drive recurring, high-margin revenue through key international subscription deals with our foundational Gen-2 dynamic monitoring constellation and ever-expanding best-in-class 35-centimetre class Gen-3 constellation,” said Brian O’Toole, BlackSky CEO. “This contract marks a significant increase in value from the original pilot program and exemplifies the continued momentum that BlackSky experiences as more international customers quickly scale up commitments in support of their long-term mission critical needs.”

As part of this contract, the customer will have access to global coverage through an On-Demand subscription, augmented by a parallel Assured subscription that will give operators premier access to imagery and analytics within its priority regional area of operations. The customer will incorporate Gen-3 and Gen-2 data seamlessly into their current environment through BlackSky’s Spectra tasking and analytics platform which enables sustained monitoring operations over multiple locations.

“This agreement also proves the value of our integrated Gen-2 and Gen-3 satellite systems. By combining Gen-2’s high-frequency cadence with Gen-3’s advanced very high-resolution imaging, analysts experience the benefits of industry leading timeliness and detail, all within the confidence of a secure workflow,” added O’Toole.

The proven on-orbit operational and technical heritage of Gen-2 has been leveraged into the design and operations of Gen-3. Gen-3 satellites generate rapid-revisit, time diverse 35-centimetre imagery that enables automated identification and classification of a wider library of vehicles, aircraft, vessels and other objects of military interest, enhancing the value of BlackSky’s current Gen-2 dawn-to-dusk dynamic monitoring services.
