Boeing has surpassed $1 billion in export contracts awarded to Australian suppliers since joining the Australian Government’s Global Supply Chain (GSC) Program in 2007. This milestone underscores Boeing’s long-standing commitment to partnering with Australian industry and supporting high-tech jobs across the country. Over the past 19 years in the GSC Program, Boeing has awarded more than 1,200 export contracts to over 110 suppliers nationwide. These partnerships span Boeing’s commercial airplanes and defence programs, as well as research and development initiatives.
Key contributors to this milestone include:
- AW Bell, awarded castings contract to support the 737 and 777 programs, as well as other commercial work across several platforms.
- Axiom Precision Manufacturing, supplying bellcrank assemblies for the CH-47 Chinook and pilot and co-pilot doors for the AH-64 Apache, has expanded its role from the Australian Apache fleet to all future Apache production programs.
- Ferra Engineering, awarded a JDAM LR and multiple JDAM Extended Range wing kit export contracts, the vertical spar box for Australia’s future Apache fleet, as well as contracts for Phantom Works programs.
Boeing provides Australian companies in the GSC Program with marketing, training, and mentoring support to help them grow and compete globally.
“Suppliers are critical to our significant Australian operations which today include more than 5,000 employees supporting commercial and defence platforms and services across the country,” said Steve Roberton, president of Boeing Australia, New Zealand and South Pacific. “What’s particularly exciting about this GSC Program milestone is that many of these suppliers are Small or Medium-sized enterprises and they are located in every state plus the ACT.”
