Australian wave developer Carnegie Wave Energy has kicked off assembly and pre-installation of the Ceto 5 units ahead of deployment off Perth.

Three buoyant actuators (pictured) are winging their way to the final pre-deployment location at BAE Systems in Henderson, Western Australia, where they will be fitted out with instrumentation and energy relief systems.

Assembly of the rest of the Ceto components – tethers, pumps, attachments and foundation connectors – will then follow.

Hydraulic dampeners, attachments, foundation connectors, hydraulic motors, tether connectors and pumps have now either shipped from suppliers or arrived at the Henderson facility for assembly and onshore testing.

Installation is planned to follow in the coming months.
