This world-first export order was placed by a European NATO Member State and will see the delivery of a complete mobile counter-drone capability, including production, spare parts, training and documentation, between 2025 and 2028. The system will be manufactured at EOS’s facility in Singapore.

EOS is already a global leader in counter-drone solutions using kinetic weapons. The new high energy laser weapon system represents a major technological evolution, capable of neutralising up to 20 drones per minute using pinpoint laser strikes at the speed of light. The system is truck-mounted and fully mobile, designed for integration into multi-layered air defence architectures.

To ensure optimal performance, the laser system is equipped with advanced algorithms, threat detection software, target acquisition technology, and beam locking capabilities.

“This is the world’s first export order for a 100-kilowatt class laser defence system,” said Dr Andreas Schwer, CEO of EOS.
“Our laser weapon system delivers unmatched speed and accuracy, with each shot costing less than ten cents. In today’s uncertain geopolitical climate, the ability to instantly detect and defeat aerial threats is mission-critical.”

EOS developed the high energy laser system to meet the urgent global demand for cost-effective solutions against mass drone attacks, a growing concern on modern battlefields.

The company will showcase its laser weapon system at DSEI 2025, held at ExCeL London from 9–12 September. EOS experts will be available to discuss the new system and how layered counter-drone solutions are vital for defeating rapidly evolving threats.
