Hyperspectral imagery company HySpecIQ announced that Tim Abbott has joined the HySpecIQ team as the Senior Vice President of Product and Sales. In his role, Abbott will lead product development to support the continued adoption of HySpecIQ’s industry leading data in both the defence and commercial sectors. His primary objective is to empower decision makers in the government and commercial to make the planet safer, smarter, stronger, and more sustainable. In doing so, Abbott will directly support the completion of the NRO Studies Contract and focus on expanding HySpecIQ’s position as an optimised HSI satellite provider and analytics company.
John DeBlasio, chief executive officer of HySpecIQ, said “I am excited to have Tim onboard to lead the development of our products and services.
His experiences applying hyperspectral imagery to solve real-world challenges for the warfighter at The National Geospatial Intelligence Agency and understanding of the National Reconnaissance Office (NRO) make him uniquely qualified to ensure we are able to fully realise the potential of our exquisite quality imaging which is tailor made to support the national security community.”
Abbott added, “I am thrilled and honoured to join this highly talented and visionary leadership team. Even more, I look forward to the opportunity to once again build enduring relationships with the great minds focused on bringing HSI and geospatial solutions into the forefront of national security, environmental impact, and much more. Space based HSI will play a major part in our National Security moving forward and to be part of that is truly meaningful.”
Abbott’s 23 year military career involved bringing solutions for the warfighter into action such as the Saturn Arch program designed to combat the use of IEDs on the battlefield. In this and multiple other roles he tied together national level assets with real-time needs on the ground to achieve battlefield objectives.
This hiring news follows HySpecIQ’s recent announcement of the closing of its Series B funding by renowned venture capitalist, Peter Thiel, as well as the news of its key partnerships with BridgeComm Inc., York Space Systems, and Soter Technology.
