https://3d.markforged.com/x7fe_cs_whitepaper_.html?mfa=apdrKongsberg Defence Australia announced that communications company Eylex, based in Castle Hill, NSW has been selected by KONGSBERG to provide cable systems for an International National Advanced Surface to Air Missile System (NASAMS) Program. NASAMS is a state-of-the-art ground based air defence system made by KONGSBERG and Raytheon Technologies. It is designed to detect, engage and destroy aircraft, unmanned aerial vehicles, and cruise missile threats, and is operational in, or being delivered to, thirteen nations.

In early 2020, Kongsberg Defence Australia selected Eylex as the cable system provider for the NASAMS capability being delivered to the Australian Army under Project LAND 19 Phase 7B. Under this project, Eylex is manufacturing and supplying cable systems for the NASAMS Fire Distribution Centres, Battery Operations Centres, and NASAMS Classrooms Trainers. The selection of Eylex as a cable system provider was based upon an assessment of their product range, technical expertise and production management systems against KONGSBERG’s rigorous supplier quality framework. This selection enables Eylex to be part of the KONGSBERG Global Supply Chain, and to be able to compete for contracts for other international programs.

“Being selected to provide cables for an International NASAMS customer is a fantastic export outcome and is a testament to the quality of the cable systems that are being produced by Eylex here in Australia”, said Sally Dunbar, Supply Chain Manager at Kongsberg Defence Australia.

This recent international order demonstrates KONGSBERG’s determination and commitment to work with Australian industry to develop sovereign capability and maximise export opportunities. Eylex headquarters is located in the Electorate of Mitchell. Local MP and Federal Minister for Immigration, Citizenship, Migrant Services and Multicultural Affairs Alex Hawke welcomed the export order for this international NASAMS program. “Eylex is an outstanding example of an Australian-owned Defence industry business. I have met and visited Eylex on numerous occasions and their proven track record demonstrates they are continuing to be a key supplier for both International and Australian Defence programs,” Hawke said.
