Lockheed Martin x Girls in Tech Announce Singapore STEM Partnership
Leading security and aerospace company Lockheed Martin today announced a year-long partnership with global NPO Girls in Tech to promote Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) education and careers across Asia. Launching first in Singapore, the partnership will also support programs developed by Girls in Tech in Indonesia, and the Republic of Korea.
The partnership kicks off today with its first activity, a STEM-focused symposium at the Singapore Youth Flying Club, featuring a panel of women leaders in aerospace and technology. The symposium aims to further provoke the conversation about the importance and benefit of STEM education, and spark serious interest in the pursuit of STEM education and careers by more female secondary school students.
55 students and teachers participated in today’s event representing the following schools; Raffles Girls School, Methodist Girls School, CHIJ Katong Convent, UWCSEA East and Dover, Eunoia Junior College, Yishun Junior College, Changkat Changi Secondary School, and Compassvale Secondary School.
