Navantia Australia has been awarded ISO 55001:2014 certification in Asset Management Systems from Bureau Veritas. ISO 55001 certification aids organisations in efficiently managing assets, balancing risk, expenditure, and organisational performance. The plans and processes that the certification is based upon are all integral to Navantia Australia’s Body of Knowledge framework.
“Receiving ISO 55001 certification has been a significant step for Navantia Australia,” commented Israel Lozano, Navantia Australia Managing Director. “Achieving this certification falls in line with Navantia Australia’s efforts towards continual improvement, cementing our efficient operation for the benefit of the Australian Defence Force.”
ISO 55001:2014 specifies requirements for a proactive lifecycle asset management system within the context of Navantia Australia’s entire organisation. It supports the optimisation of assets and reduces the overall cost and associated risks of ownership whilst enabling the company to meet the necessary performance and safety requirements.
By strategically managing assets, Navantia Australia can better support the Australian Defence Force’s long-term strategic objectives and create sustainable value in the defence and maritime sectors. Incorporating risk and opportunity management practices into asset management strategies, ensures Navantia Australia can safeguard emerging defence technologies from increasingly prevalent intelligence threats.
