Airbus to Train Cybersecurity Experts for French Ministry of the Armed Forces

  The French Directorate General of Armaments (DGA) has signed an eight-year framework contract with Airbus Defence and Space, in partnership with co-contractor Neverhack, to train all cybersecurity personnel within the Ministry of the Armed Forces. This includes cyber warriors operating under the Cyber Defence Command (COMCYBER). The contract will deliver comprehensive cyber defence training through specialised platforms developed and maintained by Airbus, and will equip the Cyber Defence Academy in Rennes. The platforms simulate complex attack-defence scenarios across military networks and systems, including C4ISR and weapons platforms, enhancing preparedness against threats such as malware, data breaches, disinformation campaigns, and AI-driven cyberattacks. Airbus’ CyberRange platform, already used in government and education sectors, will support large-scale exercises like Orion and DefNet. Airbus will also collaborate with start-ups and SMEs to keep pace with evolving technologies and threats. This initiative is expected to significantly increase France’s pool of cyber defence professionals and bolster the armed forces’ operational cyber capabilities both at home and in external operations (OPEX).
