Elbit wins IDF deal for artillery training, simulation

Elbit Systems announced it was awarded a contract valued at approximately $170 million by the Israel Ministry of Defense (IMOD) to establish and operate an advanced training and simulation center for the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) Artillery Corps. The contract will be performed over a period of 15 years. The new center is intended to support the operational integration of the “ROEM” (SIGMA) self-propelled artillery system and the “LAHAV” (PULS™) precision rocket launcher system into the IDF Artillery Corps. Under the contract, Elbit Systems will develop and deliver an advanced training infrastructure, including mission and driving simulators, training classrooms and dedicated facilities. The solution will feature simulation technologies, automation capabilities, AI-based functionalities and innovative driver training solutions. Elbit Systems will also provide training, maintenance and support services throughout the contract period. The project is intended to enhance the operational readiness and proficiency of IDF artillery personnel, shorten qualification and training timelines, and improve training efficiency while reducing resource consumption and wear on operational platforms. Boaz Cohen, General Manager of Elbit Systems Land & Armaments, said: “We are proud to support the IDF Artillery Corps with advanced training and simulation solutions for the ROEM and LAHAV systems, key components of the IDF’s next-generation land firepower array. This project further demonstrates Elbit Systems’ ability to deliver integrated and networked training solutions that combine advanced infrastructure, immersive simulation technologies and long-term partnership, enabling forces to maximise the operational potential of these advanced platforms.” For Editorial Inquiries Contact: Editor Kym Bergmann at [email protected] For Advertising Inquiries Contact: Group Sales Director Simon Hadfield at [email protected]
