Rohde & Schwarz selected for the
Royal Navy’s Type 26 Global Combat Ship

Rohde & Schwarz has been selected after a 12 month competition process run by BAE Systems to be the preferred partner for the design phase of the integrated communications system for the Royal Navy’s Type 26 Global Combat ship.

The Rohde & Schwarz proposal for the Type 26 is at the forefront of technology and includes innovative systems to truly deliver a state of the art communications system. This, coupled with proven high reliability will in turn reduce the through life cost with respect to support and provide the Royal Navy with improved efficiency of resources, high system availability and operational performance.

This selection follows previous Rohde & Schwarz naval successes in the UK which include providing communications solutions for the Royal Navy’s Queen Elizabeth Class Aircraft Carriers, River Class Offshore Patrol Vessels and the Royal Fleet Auxiliary’s Bay Class Vessels.

Internationally, Rohde & Schwarz provides communications solutions to the Royal Australian Navy’s Hobart Class Air Warfare Destroyers, the Royal Netherlands Navy’s LCF Frigates and Landing Platform Docks (LPDs) and the Spanish Navy F100 Class Frigates and LPDs as well as ships of many other nations.
