Hanwha Bulletin APDR Leaderboard (1068 x 130) (C4I FINAL)Systematic’s Australia team has successfully finished the initial iteration of SitaWare Headquarters for the Australian Army’s All Corps Captains Course, training junior officers. The Captain’s Course staff view the SitaWare suite as an essential tool for future courses and are eager to ensure all future students have access to it.

“We hope to build on this success and soon expand SitaWare’s use to the Majors Course. If we reach those milestones, then we will considerably expand on the number of Australian Army officers trained in SitaWare Headquarters each year,” says Kevin Pamenter, Project Manager of the Brisbane team.

The SitaWare suite‘s user-friendly nature left a lasting impression on both the course staff and students. “It’s great that a system with so much functionality is so easy to learn and use,” a student commented, and the course instructors agree. “While many are still learning all that it can do, they quickly realised that SitaWare has significantly improved the rate at which critical information is transferred across the battlespace,” one of the instructors said.

Junior officers in the Australian Army must complete the All Corps Captains Course to advance from Lieutenant to Captain. This course aims to equip them with the planning and staff officer skills needed for roles in Battalion and Brigade headquarters.

SitaWare Headquarters was used for three weeks of the course to plan and execute a series of challenging tactical scenarios. Students made extensive use of the SitaWare suite’s planning functionality to develop concepts, deliver back-briefs and orders, and conduct rehearsal-of-concept drills, assuming roles as staff and commanders in various command nodes. Following the development of plans and the issuance of orders, SitaWare Headquarters was employed during the execution phase to monitor the real-time positions of both friendly and enemy forces as scenarios progressed through simulation systems.
