Visionary Machines has been awarded a $2.93 million contract under the Australian Department of Defence’s Advanced Strategic Capabilities Accelerator (ASCA) Emerging and Disruptive Technologies (EDT) program. This milestone positions Visionary Machines at the forefront of delivering Decision Advantage capabilities for the Australian Defence Force (ADF) in an increasingly complex information environment.
The ASCA EDT program is investing $40 million across 14 projects to strengthen Defence’s ability to make faster, more accurate decisions than any potential adversary. Visionary Machines’ project will leverage its proprietary Pandion Passive 3D Multispectral Perception Sensing.
“Visionary Machines is honoured to be selected for our innovative, sovereign Australian technology. Our advanced systems deliver precise spatial intelligence, enabling rapid and informed decision making to provide a true strategic advantage. We are thrilled to partner with CruxML, combining our leading-edge capabilities to drive Decision Advantage across the Australian Defence Force,” said Sonny Foster, CEO of Visionary Machines.
The Pandion system combines visible and infrared light to deliver highly accurate 3D multispectral vision, enabling detection and tracking of aerial, ground, and maritime threats — even in low-light or complete darkness.
Visionary Machines was one of just 14 technology innovators selected from 123 submissions received through this call for EDT proposals. The Commonwealth of Australia (represented by the Advanced Strategic Capabilities Accelerator) supports this research through a Defence, Science and Technology Group Industry Research Contract.
