Land Forces 2026AML3D announced an initial production parts order from Austal, valued at approximately AU$0.5 million. The order transitions the production of the large, high pressure, Copper-Nickle (“CuNi”) fluid control components from traditional to AML3D’s Advanced Wire-Arc Additive Manufacturing (“WAM”) technology. The order demonstrates AML3D can convert a successful CuNi qualification program in support of the US Navy submarine industrial base (“SIB”) into production part manufacturing.

The US Navy nuclear submarine components will be metal 3D printed at AML3D’s US headquarters and technology center at Stow, Ohio. The payment terms for the order are 50% of the total contract value upfront and then the balance upon delivery, testing and commissioning of the production parts, expected to be completed by the end of the third quarter FY27.

The initial drivers of AML3D’s US Scale-up strategy are component manufacturing and ARCEMY advanced manufacturing system sales in support of the US Navy SIB. The Austal USA production parts order demonstrates demand for component manufacturing is complementing demand for systems sales, with 16 systems deployed to support the US Navy SIB to date. US Navy forecasts indicated a need for up to 100 advanced additive manufacturing systems and 1,600 additively manufactured components by 2030.

It is also pleasing to have another growth driver within our successful US Scale-up strategy firing up. We have already deployed 17 ARCEMY systems to meet US demand to date, with 16 of those in support of the US Navy SIB. Demand for ARCEMY in the US is continuing to grow and now, of equal importance, demand for component manufacturing is also growing. The US Navy has said they expect 1,600 different components will be additively manufactured by 2030. Our growth story is just beginning.”
