Australian Army visits Rheinmetall’s BOXER CRV at Supacat’s Melbourne facility Officers from the Capability and Technology Management College – a division of the Australian Defence Force Academy – had a successful visit to Supacat’s Port Melbourne facility. Supacat, an innovative producer of high mobility military vehicles, specialist vehicles and maritime products, has an established presence in Victoria which will serve as the integration facility for Rheinmetall’s BOXER CRV offering for Phase 2 of the Commonwealth’s LAND 400 program. The company is supporting the Rheinmetall LAND 400 team, offering a local perspective on testing, qualifying and modifying vehicles for Australian users. The visit provided Army officers with insight into Supacat’s Engineering Services area, their HMT vehicles and the opportunity to observe and learn about Rheinmetall’s BOXER CRV on display at the facility. “There was a lot of curiosity about the BOXER CRV. There were quite a few comments about how the BOXER looked like it belonged on the modern battle field and they were excited by the turret and its capabilities,” said Kisa Christensen, Supacat Senior Project Manager LAND 400. The  officers  who  inspected  the  facility  are  likely  to  post  into  capability  and  acquisition  roles  in the  near  future. Some   of   these   officers   could   end   up   becoming   Australia’s   future   CASG   and   Army   Project   Team   leaders.   So   it   was   very   exciting   to   be   able   to   show   them   what   we’re   working   on, Ms Christensen said.
