RSL NSW renews support for LifeCare

Veterans and their families will continue to have access to an expanding network of integrated support services across New South Wales through a renewed $3.8 million commitment from RSL NSW to sponsor services delivered by partner charity RSL LifeCare. The renewed agreement was marked with a ceremonial cheque presentation at the RSL NSW Annual State Congress in Tamworth, witnessed by delegates from across the state – including representatives of many of the RSL NSW sub-Branches whose generous contributions have made the partnership possible. The $3.8 million investment will continue RSL NSW and RSL LifeCare’s collaboration through an expanding network of Veteran and Family Hubs, connecting veterans and families with professional support and providing a welcoming front door to a broad range of services. Importantly, the partnership combines RSL LifeCare’s professional veteran services with the unrivalled local reach and knowledge of RSL NSW’s network of 304 volunteer-led sub-Branches and 36 Chapters. RSL NSW President Brigadier Vince Williams, CSC (Retd.) said the cheque presentation was an opportunity to recognise the sub-Branches whose generosity was directly supporting veterans and families across NSW. “This $3.8 million investment simply would not be possible without the generosity of our sub-Branches and their members,” Mr Williams said. “It was particularly fitting to mark this renewed partnership at Congress, in front of delegates representing many of the sub-Branches whose charitable contributions are making this work possible. They should be enormously proud of what their generosity is achieving. By pooling our resources, we can provide professional support at a scale that no individual sub-Branch could deliver alone, while ensuring those services remain connected to local communities.” Williams said the success of the RSL Lifecare Veteran and Family Hubs was about much more than the physical locations themselves. “The strength of this partnership is the hub-and-spoke model. RSL LifeCare provides professional services through the Hubs, while our sub-Branches provide the local relationships, knowledge and reach that help connect veterans and their families with that support. Our sub-Branches are the eyes and ears of RSL in their communities. They create connection and camaraderie, identify veterans who may need assistance and provide a trusted pathway to professional support. That means the impact of every Hub extends well beyond its front door and into surrounding communities. I’s a powerful example of local support creating statewide impact – and of what we can achieve when we work better together.” Veterans and their families can access RSL LifeCare services and support regardless of where they live. They can contact RSL LifeCare directly or speak with their local RSL NSW sub-Branch, which can help connect them with the right support, including services delivered through the Hub network.
