FN Browning Group announced the completion of its acquisition of Sofisport, a Paris-based manufacturer of ammunition and components. This strategic move consolidates FN Browning Group’s position among the world’s industry leaders and strengthens its portfolio of integrated small arms and ammunition solutions, spanning both the Defence & Security and Hunting & Sports Shooting markets.
Julien Compère, CEO of FN Browning Group, said: “The completion of this acquisition marks a major milestone, further reinforcing the long-term sustainability of our industrial and commercial activities. Leveraging our extensive complementarity, we now offer a fully integrated product portfolio while consolidating our industrial footprint across nine NATO and six EU countries. Together, FN Browning Group and Sofisport form a resilient, innovative and forward-looking group.”
Both FN Browning Group and Sofisport have delivered sustained growth and solid financial performance in recent years. Combined, they form a robust, future-proof industrial group. In 2024, their aggregated revenues would have exceeded €1.3 billion. Sofisport is recognised as a global leader in the ammunition industry. The group is distinguished by its unique vertical integration, covering the entire value chain: from the production of components (including powder, primers and shotshell cases) to assembly and distribution of shotshell ammunition.
Sofisport subsidiaries operate around 15 facilities in France, Italy, Spain, Canada and the United Kingdom, complementing FN Browning Group’s companies and factories in Belgium, the United States, the United Kingdom, Portugal and Finland. As a result of the acquisition, FN Browning Group now employs 4,100 people worldwide across more than 25 industrial, commercial and administrative sites.
