Silentium Defence has appointed Bernie White, a former senior leader on Australia’s AUKUS submarine program and decorated Army veteran, as Head of Future Business, APAC. White will lead Silentium’s business growth and acquisition strategy across the Asia-Pacific, reporting directly to CEO James Palmer. The newly created role comes as Silentium accelerates its regional expansion in passive radar and advanced situational awareness technologies.
White joins from BAE Systems Australia, where he played a key role shaping the AUKUS submarine program and previously led its Electronic Warfare Sensors and Effectors portfolio, overseeing programs such as the Joint Strike Missile and Wedgetail E-7 aircraft. A former Commander of the 16 Air Land Regiment, he has logged close to 2,000 drone combat hours and served as Australia’s Military Attaché in Washington DC.
Silentium CEO James Palmer emphasised the strategic importance of the appointment. “Bernie brings unmatched expertise in integrated air and missile defence, radar, and drone operations at a time when demand for Silentium’s technology is growing rapidly across the region. His appointment reflects our ambition to scale globally while delivering cutting-edge solutions for defence and national security customers.”
Reflecting on his new role, White said he was motivated by Silentium’s disruptive technology and growth trajectory. “Silentium’s passive radar technology is a game-changer. I’m excited to help position the company as a leader in the APAC region and work with the team to deliver capabilities that strengthen our allies’ situational awareness.”
Founded in 2017, Silentium Defence is a global leader in passive radar and advanced situational awareness technologies. Its systems are deployed to protect people, assets, and infrastructure in some of the most challenging operating environments worldwide.
