“This is a pivotal milestone in Extel’s growth journey,” said Bruce Fitzgerald, chief executive officer of Extel Technologies. “The chief growth officer role will deepen customer partnerships and enhance how we deliver design and manufacturing capability across Australia and the United States. We recognise Sammy for his energy, clarity of vision and record of building high-performing teams that achieve ambitious outcomes for customers. Our growth is, and always will be, driven by helping our partners strengthen their sovereign capability and global competitiveness.”

Wallwork joins Extel Technologies from Advanced Navigation, one of Australia’s fastest-growing technology companies, where he served as Global Head of Sales Development. He led international expansion across mining, agriculture, defence, aerospace and industrial markets, scaling teams and driving significant commercial growth. Recognised as a 2025 Australian Defence Industry Awards “Rising Star,” Wallwork is regarded as one of the sector’s most dynamic growth leaders and a driving force behind a new generation of sovereign technology companies. Wallwork’s leadership style blends strategic precision with a hands-on, entrepreneurial edge, building high-performance teams, forging industry partnerships and unlocking scale in complex global markets.

As chief growth officer, Wallwork will report directly to CEO Bruce Fitzgerald and work closely with Jeff Thomas, who continues to play a key leadership role as part of Extel’s planned strategic expansion. As CGO, Wallwork will also join Extel’s Executive Leadership Team – contributing directly to corporate strategy and long-term growth initiatives to meet evolving requirements across defence and advanced technology sectors.

“Extel Technologies has a world-class engineering and manufacturing capability that positions it to play a defining role in Australia’s sovereign technology future,” said Sammy Wallwork. “My focus is to accelerate growth by scaling our presence in key markets and ensuring Australian-built systems continue to set the global benchmark for quality, performance and reliability.”
