Integrated Surveillance and Defense (ISD), in collaboration with Naval Air Systems Command (NAVAIR) and Indonesian partners, successfully completed the Critical Design Review (CDR) for the Indonesian Navy’s Maritime Patrol Aircraft program in December 2024. The review, conducted with the Indonesian National Military-Naval Force (TNI-AL) and Indonesian Aerospace (PTDI), marks a significant milestone in increasing Indonesia’s maritime surveillance capabilities.
The comprehensive technical assessment confirmed the design’s maturity and readiness for manufacturing. Subject matter experts validated all aspects of the program, including technical documentation, safety considerations, and manufacturing feasibility, ultimately approving the project’s advancement to the production phase.
“This successful review demonstrates the strong partnership between the U.S. and Indonesian,” said Blaise Dagilaitis, President of ISD. “The program will significantly enhance Indonesia’s maritime patrol capabilities.”
The initiative, awarded to ISD in March 2024, is supporting security cooperation objectives through a Foreign Military Sale (FMS) program. The contract consists of upgrading CN- 235 maritime patrol aircraft with advanced sensors, communications systems, and mission management technologies. Additionally, ISD will deliver a Mission System Simulator and provide comprehensive training and field support services to the Indonesian Navy.
Earlier in 2024, ISD demonstrated its commitment to excellence by successfully passing Naval Air Warfare Center Aircraft Division’s (NAWCAD) AIRWorks’ Quality Management System Risk Assessment, meeting rigorous AS9100D standards.

and the Indonesian’s just inked a multi billion dollar drone deal with Baykar including for naval drone TB3 (and land based Akinci) including construction of a new factory. Strange it’s not getting any press in Australia.
