1 IMDEX 2025 Digital Banner 01 728x90pxLockheed Martin Australia has established a new custom-fit logistics warehouse facility in Sydney to provide dedicated warehousing services to support the Australian Army operate and maintain their world-class, multi-role UH-60M Black Hawk fleet. Located nearby the Australian Army’s Holsworthy Base, the 4500 square metre warehouse was established as part of Lockheed Martin Australia’s Integrated Support Contract with the Australian Army. This warehouse stores replenishment spares, support and test equipment, and provisions for the Black Hawk operations in Australia. Thirty enduring warehouse and logistics jobs were created in Sydney under the Black Hawk support contract, with options to grow as the fleet expands over the coming years.

As the sovereign industry partner providing integrated support services to the Black Hawks, Lockheed Martin Australia has rapidly grown the industrial workforce to 170 employees across the program since mid-2023.

Lockheed Martin Australia and New Zealand’s Chief Executive Warren McDonald said, “I commend the Australian Army and our team for the rapid establishment of the logistics warehouse facility.” He added, “This warehouse increases Australia’s operational readiness by ensuring the Australian Army’s Black Hawk fleet are well supplied, maintained and combat ready.”

Lockheed Martin Australia’s Program Manager, Rodahn Gibbon said, “Our workforce is privileged to work hand-in-hand with the Australian Army.” “We pride ourselves in the deep understanding we bring to rotary wing support services and how we apply these services to the Black Hawk program through our support contract.”

The warehouse features two state of the art computer-controlled Vertical Lift Machines. These machines, by stacking spares vertically triple the inventory holding capacity without any increase in floor space. The Vertical Lift Machines also increase efficiency by minimising travel between warehouse locations and improve ergonomics support of the workforce by delivering goods to the operator.
