Land Forces 24 728x90 WEB 240202 01Serco Group has extended its contract with Australian Workforce Management software expert, nimbus Cloud (nimbus), for another three years to support its strategy of continuous improvement in its workforce operation for its thousands of staff around the world.

Under the contract extension, more than 24,000 Serco staff, from non-clinical medical staff in remote Australian military facilities to National Health Service employees in dozens of British hospitals, UK and US military establishments and Middle East airports, will benefit from nimbus’ Australian designed Workforce Management software platform.

Nimbus’s smart technology provides Serco the intuitive tools needed to optimise and maintain a productive workforce. Utilising the platform, Serco has access to advanced AI built technology to efficiently schedule the right staff, with the right skill, across teams, departments, and locations, taking the guesswork out of scheduling and delivering insights for better decision making.

Since 2018, nimbus has enabled Serco to support the productivity and safety of its workers in over 400 locations across Asia Pacific, the United Kingdom, North America, and the Middle East. The nimbus platform has continued to enable Serco scalability for its contracts and automation of its business processes.

Grant Custance, nimbus CEO, said; “We have been collaborating with Serco for several years to help them continuously deliver the best service to their customers through the support of our nimbus technology. Serco has one of the most complex and challenging working environments in the world, due its highly diverse markets and skillsets which its staff are required to maintain. Our Australian developed technology has played a crucial role in helping address these unique needs.”

The nimbus solution enables Serco to:

  • View the central operational area on the ground at a site level, providing a real-time snapshot of staffing at any given point in the day.
  • Automatically schedule to the forecasted demand and respond to the dynamics of daily operations, enabling the business unit to manage the use of staff hours effectively and flexibly.
  • Facilitate pan-operation scheduling to enhance utilisation of staff hours.
  • Capture time sheets electronically and auto-approve based on configurable rules.
  • Provide centralised skills tracking and schedule forecasting to meet the strict requirements of many government contracts, through the utilisation of nimbus’ Skills Engine.
  • Enable employees to interact with the nimbus native application on iOS and Android mobile devices and provide Serco with their upcoming availability, see any upcoming training, and submit leave applications on the go.

The nimbus solution is already being deployed by Serco workforces as diverse as the US Space Force Surveillance System operation, in the US and Mexico; Air Traffic Control Towers located across the US and Airport Services in the Middle East; NHS hospitals across Central London; and the Fiona Stanley Hospital in Perth, Australia.
