https://www.milcis.com.au/Built’s Hanwha Armoured vehicle Centre of Excellence (H-ACE) team was named winner of the Excellence in Construction of Industrial Building category at the 2025 Master Builders Victoria Awards, following their earlier success as Regional Team of the Year at the 2025 Property Council Victoria People in Property Awards.

Delivered in Avalon for Hanwha Defence Australia, the 32,000 sqm Stage 1 facility was completed two and a half months ahead of schedule and includes an assembly hall, a 1,200m test track, deep-water testing facilities, training wing, and an obstacle course.

Built’s digital-first approach boosted productivity, streamlined workflows and strengthened supply chain coordination. This enabled faster, data-led decision-making, maintained quality, and kept materials and resources moving efficiently to achieve the early handover.

Additionally, H-ACE Stage 1 exceeded social procurement targets, supported local job creation, and strengthened Geelong’s advanced manufacturing capabilities.

Paul Ritchie, Built’s General Manager, Victoria, said these awards recognise the combined efforts of everyone involved: “Delivering H-ACE was a unique opportunity to contribute to Australia’s defence capability while creating lasting economic benefits for the Geelong region. These awards are a credit to the innovation, teamwork and leadership shown by the entire project team and our partners, thus reinforcing Built’s role as a trusted delivery partner for complex, Defence infrastructure projects.”
