Thales Australia, in a strategic partnership with Defence, successfully embarked on a major logistical movement of critical ordnance, with almost 4 million items delivered to strengthen the firepower efforts at this year’s Exercise Talisman Sabre.
In an effort to bolster the readiness and interoperability of allied armed forces, Thales Australia played a crucial role in this year’s exercise, transporting and delivering critical explosive ordnance for live fire and manoeuvre exercises. This major logistic and strategic effort to deliver, store, and ensure the quality of items required by Defence, required strategic operational coordination from eight Defence Explosive Ordnance Depots (operated by Thales) nationwide to 17 different delivery points. The total number of items utilised were consolidated and prepared by EO Services on to an estimated 300 pallets that required 30 transport vehicles to transport and deliver from across the nation, assisting 19 countries who were invited to participate in the exercise.
As part of the multi-national defence exercise, Thales Australia delivered ammunitions – both small and large calibre, demolition materials, pyrotechnics, tools and equipment, not just to Australia, but to allied nations as well. It underscores the company’s unwavering commitment to defence support and international security cooperation.
