The Eggler Institute has delivered a specialist Military Vehicle Technology training programme for personnel from the U.S. Army’s Yuma Proving Ground (YPG), alongside representatives from Defence’s Land Engineering Agency (LEA), Australia’s centre of expertise for land systems engineering, test and evaluation. The program brought together technical specialists from both nations to deepen professional knowledge, exchange practical experience and strengthen relationships supporting the longstanding Australia–United States defence partnership.
Designed for professionals involved in military vehicle acquisition, testing, evaluation and engineering, the training program examined the technical principles that shape vehicle design and operational performance.
The training programme was complemented by visits to LEA’s Monegeetta Proving Ground and the Royal Australian Armoured Corps Tank Museum at Puckapunyal. These visits gave participants additional context for examining military vehicle development, testing and technology evolution.
“Military vehicle programs depend on professionals who can apply sound engineering judgement in complex operational and technical environments,” said Mark Eggler, Institute Director of the Eggler Institute of Technology. “Bringing U.S. and Australian technical specialists together allowed participants to share perspectives, build professional relationships and strengthen the engineering knowledge that underpins effective capability acquisition and sustainment.”
