Luerssen Australia announced it has expanded its footprint to Canberra and has established a base in the nation’s capital. Over the last five years, Luerssen Australia has continued to expand its teams in Perth, Melbourne and Adelaide as it delivers 12 Arafura Class Offshore Patrol Vessels (OPV) for the Royal Australian Navy.
Establishing an office in Canberra allows the Luerssen Australia team to work even more closely with Defence and the Federal Government, and continue to strengthen collaborative relationships.
Luerssen Australia Chief Executive Officer, Jens Nielsen, said this is an exciting time for the company. “As our employee numbers continued to grow, it was clear we needed to expand our footprint to provide greater support for our team and our customer,” said Nielsen. “We are extremely proud to be continually growing our workforce, and creating job opportunities for Australians. As we build strong foundations across Australia, we are demonstrating our commitment to being here for the long term. Luerssen Australia is passionate about helping create a sovereign shipbuilding capability in Australia.”
A full list of current employment opportunities is available via the Luerssen Australia website.
More offices, more employees, still no OPV’s
Correct. And Defence refuses to supply even the most basic information about the status of the program.
Lurrsen should find a way to work with Austal in WA if they want to stay in Aus. Lurrsen has projects but struggled with workforce, Austal has workforce but no major projects. Navantia should be courting Austal for JV also.
Nuship Arafura now not to be offered for acceptance until “late this year”.
That is probably code for “sometime next year”
This is beyond a joke.
Thanks. I’m not aware of further delays – do you have a reference?
