Boeing picks Australian firms for F-15 work

Boeing has entered partnership agreements with two Australian aerospace firms to support the US group’s global F-15 fighter aircraft production programme.

Under the arrangements, announced by Boeing on 14 January, Lovitt Technologies Australia will manufacture F-15 trailing edge fairings while Marand Precision Engineering will supply fuel tank installation equipment, specialised hand tools and structural support pieces.

The agreements represent Marand’s first defence contract with Boeing and an expansion of Lovitt’s industrial partnership with the US corporation. Lovitt also manufactures Boeing components for the company’s P-8A maritime reconnaissance aircraft, F/A-18E/F fighter, the CH-47 helicopter and the Bell Boeing V-22 Osprey tiltrotor aircraft.
