CyberCX announced that it has established a Global Cyber Security Advisory Board and engaged Admiral. (ret.) Michael Rogers as the inaugural appointee. Rogers formerly headed the US National Security Agency (NSA), commanded the US Cyber Command and was chief of the Central Security Service.
The board’s formation and Roger’s appointment follows CyberCX’s rapid growth in the Australian and New Zealand, now representing the region’s largest private sector cyber security workforce, and recent spearhead into the UK and the US markets. CyberCX plans to appoint representatives from key Five-Eyes jurisdictions. Rogers will provide his expert advice to CyberCX’s technology and service offerings, including supporting the company’s US expansion and managed services offering. He will also provide strategic advice to CyberCX and provide mentorship and thought leadership.
CyberCX CEO John Paitaridis said, “Mike brings unrivalled cyber security experience and knowledge to CyberCX. He has a unique understanding of the world’s most advanced cyber security technologies and tactics, an intimate knowledge of international threat actors and behaviours, and deep insights into how geopolitical security trends are impacting public and private organisations. Throughout his distinguished career, including leading the world’s most formidable cyber security agency, Mike has had a deep interest in Australia and its security capabilities. We are delighted he is joining us.
“The CyberCX Global Cyber Security Advisory Board is a key strategic pillar for delivering our world-class services to targeted international markets. We are a proudly Australian business and firmly believe we have the best talent in the world. In cyber security, we face the same threats from nation states and organised criminal groups as our likeminded nations and partners in the US, UK and New Zealand. We want to share our expertise and solutions with these markets. Admiral Rogers and the other members of the Global Cyber Security Advisory Board will drive these efforts”, Paitaridis said.
Rogers said he was drawn to the company by its clear mission and leadership. “What CyberCX has achieved in the last year is extraordinary. Australia needed a trusted and sovereign cyber security provider and CyberCX has delivered that. The company has the opportunity to deliver a formidable global service offering. Its focus and mission on protecting government and enterprise customers in Five Eyes jurisdictions is a welcome one. There has never been a more critical time for a trusted cyber security company. I’ve worked closely with JP and Alastair in the past and believe in the highly talented team at CyberCX and this extraordinary opportunity.”
Alastair MacGibbon, CyberCX chief strategy officer and former head of the Australia Cyber Security Centre, said CyberCX were delighted welcome Rogers to the team. “Mike’s experience, integrity, 5 calibre and credentials will greatly assist us navigate what is an increasingly hostile cyber threat environment. I partnered with Mike in Government defending US and Australian institutions and organisation from global cyber threats and am glad we can continue that mission in the private sector. Cyber security is a global problem. Mike’s expertise will greatly benefit CyberCX and its customers.”
Launched in October 2019, CyberCX has united the country’s most trusted cyber security companies to create a comprehensive end-to-end cyber security organisation serving Australian and New Zealand enterprise and government customers. CyberCX has a workforce of over 600 cyber security professionals and footprint of over 20 offices across Australia and New Zealand.
