Military and Emergency Services Health Australia (MESHA), part of The Hospital Research Foundation (THRF) Group, announced the appointment of Adam Watson to the Board of Governors.

Chief Executive Officer of THRF Group Paul Flynn said he was delighted Adam accepted the position and will bring further depth to a group of highly esteemed and experienced board members. “We’re thrilled Adam has agreed to join the advisory board given his deep understanding of service life and his keen interest in the health and welfare of veterans everywhere as well as those who continue to serve. His extensive knowledge and expertise will be a valuable addition to the team,” Flynn said.

Watson is currently the Director of Red Ochre Labs for BAE Systems Australia where he is responsible for delivering new and disruptive technology for emerging market opportunities. He is also the Chair of the board of the Defence Teaming Centre (DTC) and is driven to develop, advocate and connect Australia’s sovereign defence industry capability.

Watson has worked within the rail, infrastructure and defence sectors in a range of executive roles spanning general management, project management, strategy and M&A, business development, supply chain and procurement. “I have always been impressed by MESHA’s dedication to actively inform and improve policy, programs and services for current and former serving military and emergency service personnel and importantly their families too,” Watson said. “I’m looking forward to playing a role to help those people who have volunteered to serve our communities and our nation through their service.”

Watson commenced his career as an Australian Army Officer serving for 14 years in the USA, UK, Southeast Asia, the Middle East and Australia. He has received two United States Meritorious Service Medals for his performance in the USA and Iraq and has also been awarded the US Army Military Order of St Christopher.
