One of Australia’s most respected defence industry experts, Ron Fisher, joins award-winning advisory firm, Proximity. Fisher joins Proximity as a Principal Advisor and will lead the organisation’s service offering to Defence as the National Defence Lead, acting as the primary strategic contact between Proximity and Defence. Proximity is a significant supplier of commercial, consulting and legal services to Defence, with Defence being Proximity’s largest client.
Fisher transitions to Proximity from his most recent role as an external member of the Defence Capability Acquisition and Sustainment Group (CASG) Independent Assurance Review Board, where he has been helping to review dozens of Defence procurement projects.
Following a career in the Australian Defence Force, Fisher has forged a successful senior executive career, including as Managing Director of Raytheon Australia between 1998 and 2009, and as President and CEO of Raytheon Canada. He has also supported many businesses in developing growth strategies and professional development, leadership, executive development, and career management programs.
Fisher’s appointment to Proximity comes at a time when the organisation is experiencing significant growth and acceleration across its core solution lines – consulting, legal and commercial. Given Ron’s proven track record for building industry leading organisations, Proximity is excited about the benefits his experience can bring to its ambitious growth agenda.

The move to Proximity comes after a long-standing strategic relationship between the firm and Ron. Fisher was one of the founding members of the Proximity Advisory Board from 2013 – 2016, and as a result, Fisher has a deep understanding of Proximity’s core values and its projection path.
