https://www.milcis.com.au/The newly created role of deputy chief executive officer of Electro Optic Systems (EOS) will be filled immediately by former CEO for EM Solutions Dr Rowan Gilmore. Primary responsibilities of the role will include budget execution and compliance, driving productivity improvements throughout the organisation, and mentoring the EOS senior leadership team.

EM Solutions is a wholly owned subsidiary of EOS and is a key element of the company’s SpaceLink space communications program. Over the past 10 years, Gilmore has overseen the growth of EM Solutions into a world-class technology developer and provider of innovative microwave and on-the-move radio and satellite products, which are currently in use with six navies globally. Prior to EM Solutions he gained valuable experience at SITA, a company providing software and telecommunications to more than 600 of the world’s airlines, and as general manager for international networks for Telstra.

With revenues in 2021 exceeding $25 million and an order book of 18 months, Gilmore leaves EM Solutions in an excellent position. He hands over to John Logan, vice president of programs and Georgios Makris, vice president of operations; both have been with EM Solutions for more than 15 years, and report to Glen Tindall, CEO of EOS Space Systems.

Commenting on his new role, Gilmore said, “I have spent the last twenty years of my career building small companies into larger profitable entities. This new challenge, to work with a great team and cutting-edge technology, building EOS into a highly profitable Australian prime Defence contractor will be an exciting journey. EOS has a diverse product range but the recipe for success will be similar.”
