SME Gateway Pty Ltd has announced the interim promotion of Mike Johnson, Chief Operating Officer to Acting Chief Executive Officer while an executive search is undertaken to secure a permanent replacement for the previous CEO, Stuart Althaus.
As one of Australia’s premier member organisations representing the interests of small to medium enterprises to federal government and Defence, it is important to maintain leadership who can represent the company, brand and membership. Mike has several years’ experience in guiding the operations of the business and is therefore a natural choice to fill the interim role.
With a focus on member engagement, SME Gateway will shortly introduce new events and options for members to receive even more value from their partnership with SME Gateway, including a series of educational and networking events, member forums and an ability to list their capabilities, products and contact details to other members via the bespoke SME Gateway Member Portal.
Johnson was upbeat about the appointment: “This appointment represents an opportunity to maintain our current business activities, whilst establishing new ways of engaging with our members, clients and the broader Defence industry. I believe SMEs are a critical part of Australia’s sovereign input to capability and as a collective, will provide material value to the federal government and the broader economy.”
