SeoulAME Systems has won the Victorian Manufacturing Hall of Fame Award for Manufacturer of the Year – Regional. In its 21st year the regional category is an inaugural award to recognise the importance and outstanding achievements of manufacturing in rural areas. The annual awards, hosted by the Victorian Government, recognise outstanding achievements in Victoria’s manufacturing industry.

This historic achievement is a testament to over 46 years of dedication, commitment and hard work from the people of Ararat and surrounds. AME Systems is a leading designer and manufacturer of quality electrical wiring harnesses and assemblies based in regional Victoria. Founded in 1977, AME Systems has a long history of leadership and success in the electrical harness industry and has grown from a small business to a major player with more than 500 employees based in Ararat, Melbourne and Malaysia.

Nick Carthew, Managing Director of AME Systems says the award is for everyone involved in helping AME Systems develop and continue to flourish in the region. Product is important but AME Systems believe relationships, honesty, technical knowledge and highest-level customer service are equally important. “Winning this award is fantastic recognition for our amazing team. Our people have worked tirelessly, they are our number one priority, without them we wouldn’t be where we are today building world class solutions. I am immensely proud to work alongside such great people each day.” said Carthew.

Outstanding individuals and organisations in Victoria’s manufacturing sector were celebrated for their achievements, with the 21st Victorian Manufacturing Hall of Fame Awards shining a spotlight on talent across the state. Regional Victoria alone is home to more than 4000 manufacturing businesses.

“The COVID-19 pandemic and substantial labour shortages has presented one of the most significant business challenges and we have certainly learnt to adapt and change along a very uncertain road. I’m proud of my team for working through everything strategically, being in a regional area definitely adds another level of obstacles.” said Carthew.

AME Systems specialises in customised electrical solutions for heavy transport, aerospace, defence, rail, agriculture and special purpose vehicles and machinery and has recently expanded strategically into the defence and aviation sectors.
