
Aurizn launches Infinite Studio 4.2: Aurizn has announced the release of Infinite Studio 4.2, the latest version of its Australian-developed software platform that helps defence and national security organisations create realistic virtual environments for testing, training and mission preparation. The release comes at a time when defence forces globally – including the Australian Defence Force (ADF) and its allies – are increasing investment in synthetic environments to accelerate capability development, improve operational readiness and reduce the cost and risk associated with live testing. Developed in Australia, Infinite Studio is already being deployed and integrated across allied defence ecosystems, including by the United Kingdom’s Defence Science and Technology Laboratory (Dstl), US Government agencies and major defence companies – demonstrating growing international demand for sovereign Australian modelling and simulation technology. Infinite Studio enables users to create realistic virtual environments that model how terrain, infrastructure, sensors and environmental conditions interact in the operational environment.
MBDA and Safran reach final phase on THUNDART: MBDA and Safran Electronics & Defense have entered the final phase of negotiations to conclude the future implementation contract with the French defence procurement agency (DGA) for the successor program to Lance-Roquettes Unitaire (LRU), with their solution THUNDART, the next-generation artillery system. This decision marks a major step in the renewal of French land strike capabilities in depth, and in the preparation for the replacement of the French LRU. The THUNDART system will also meet the operational needs of many French allied countries. Developed jointly by MBDA and Safran Electronics & Defense, THUNDART will offer the French armed forces a precision strike capability of up to 150 km, designed to meet the demands of high-intensity conflicts and capable of being deployed in the most contested environments. Designed, developed, and produced in France, THUNDART offers the French armed forces complete operational flexibility, regardless of the situation, while ensuring full autonomy in export decisions. Capable of entering operational service as early as 2030, THUNDART combines the recognized expertise of MBDA, Safran Electronics & Defense, and Roxel, a subsidiary of MBDA, in propulsion, guidance, navigation, and terminal precision. The system has been designed to maintain a high level of performance, even in degraded or contested environments, including in the event of jamming or loss of GNSS signals.
Diehl Defence, Leonardo and General Dynamics win VULCANO 155mm GLR deal: Diehl Defence, Leonardo and General Dynamics Ordnance and Tactical Systems (GD-OTS) celebrate the Extended Range Artillery Projectile (ERAP) contract which was won by General Dynamics this year. The guided ammunition VULCANO 155mm Guided Long Range (GLR) was selected by the U.S. Army organization PM CAS (Project Manager Combat Ammunition Systems) for the U.S. Army. The ERAP initiative represents an important step in advancing long-range precision fire capabilities and underlines the growing demand for highly accurate artillery solutions capable of operating in increasingly complex operational environments. The selected solution builds up on the qualified and combat-proven VULCANO 155 Guided Long Range ammunition family, which has successfully demonstrated its capabilities through the last years of deployment. VULCANO is a guided artillery ammunition developed by Diehl Defence together with its industrial partner Leonardo owner of the design authority. The ammunition enables international armed forces to engage stationary single as well as moving targets at long distances with pin-point accuracy. The combination of satellite-based navigation with laser- or infrared-sensor terminal guidance, makes VULCANO one of the most accurate artillery ammunitions worldwide.

Elt Group and Rohde & Schwarz sign a cooperation agreement: Elettronica S.p.A. (ELT) and Rohde & Schwarz GmbH & Co. KG (Rohde & Schwarz) have signed a Framework Cooperation Agreement aimed to explore potential business opportunities in the field of electronic warfare and defence technologies. The agreement establishes a structured basis enabling the companies to jointly evaluate and pursue future selected commercial opportunities across multiple operational domain including land, airborne, space, cyber and, in continuity to the running agreement, naval. “This agreement represents an important step in strengthening our international cooperation and in enhancing our ability to respond to increasingly complex and evolving procurement and commercial requirements” said Paolo Izzo, SVP Global Sales & Business Development Elettronica spa. “With Rohde & Schwarz, a global leader with highly complementary capabilities, we can combine our respective strengths to offer more competitive solutions across the electromagnetic spectrum in today’s defense landscape” The agreement defines a general framework for cooperation, including principles for evaluating projects, aligning technical and commercial approaches, and determining potential workshare based on the distinct technological strengths of each company. Milrem Robotics and CNIM Systèmes Industriels sign MoU: Milrem Robotics and CNIM Systèmes Industriels have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) at Eurosatory 2026 to deliver advanced Unmanned Engineering Reconnaissance solutions to defence customers worldwide. The agreement builds on the successful delivery of multiple unmanned systems combining the companies’ technologies to Ukraine, with an additional batch of systems planned for delivery shortly. Under the MoU, Milrem Robotics’ THeMIS Unmanned Ground Vehicle (UGV) will become CNIM Systèmes Industriels’ preferred robotic platform whenever an unmanned ground system is required. In turn, CNIM Systèmes Industriels will become Milrem Robotics’ preferred partner for engineering reconnaissance payloads integrated onto the THeMIS platform. The partnership combines Milrem Robotics’ combat-proven robotic platform expertise with CNIM Systèmes Industriels’ extensive experience in unmanned engineering and mobility assurance systems. Together, the companies aim to provide armed forces with highly capable, modular, and scalable solutions that enhance operational effectiveness while reducing risks to personnel. Milrem Robotics and Frankenburg Technologies also announced Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to cooperate on next-generation unmanned counter-uncrewed aerial systems (C-UAS) capabilities. The cooperation will focus on integrating Frankenburg’s Mark I missile — a compact precision-guided interceptor designed specifically for affordable and scalable counter-UAS operations — onto Milrem’s unmanned ground platforms. Frankenburg’s Mark I is the world’s first cost-effective, mass-manufacturable guided interceptor missile, addressing a rapidly growing market need driven by the proliferation of low-cost aerial threats. Built for scalable industrial production using commercially available components, Mark I reduces short-range intercept costs by more than 10 times compared to conventional systems.
Experimentation contract for the AKERON RCX50: MBDA has signed a trial contract with the DGA for AKERON RCX50 remotely controlled ammunition (RCA), which includes experimentation and training phases for the Technical Section of the Army (STAT) and the French Navy. This latest contract is indicative of MBDA’s ability to meet the requirements of the armed forces and to adapt to changes on the battlefield. The AKERON RCX50 offers simplicity of use and operational flexibility, with an optimized cost for mass production and use. The development of the system, entirely self-financed, also highlights MBDA’s ability to adapt and innovate in the field of short-range RCAs. The AKERON RCX50 is now ready for mass production. The AKERON RCX50 is MBDA’s short-range remotely controlled ammunition, based on initial work on the SPHINX demonstrator carried out as part of the COLIBRI project. This RCA, designed from start to finish as a weapon system, is a tactical asset in the field and provides an advantage to the armed forces. The AKERON RCX50 is the result of a successful collaboration with Novadem, an innovative SME specializing in aerial robotics, which has been designing and manufacturing drone solutions for civil and military markets for 20 years. The synergy between MBDA and Novadem has made it possible to develop this RCA within tight deadlines.
SEA wins UK contract for AUKUS Maritime Innovation Challenge: SEA, part of Cohort plc Group, has won a funding contract from UK Defence Innovation (UKDI) for the 2025 AUKUS Maritime Innovation Challenge. With the funding, SEA will enhance its Underwater Acoustic Modelling Toolset software for Acoustic Communications (AComms) to maximise Acomms range and mission coverage. Focused on developing next-generation technology to enhance trilateral undersea warfare and Command and Control (C2) capabilities, the AUKUS Maritime Innovation Challenge falls under Pillar 2 of the AUKUS agreement. It brings together academia and defence sectors of each nation (Australia, the United Kingdom and the United States) to develop advanced military capabilities. The Challenge focused on undersea communications and control of autonomous systems. Building on more than 20 years of research into the underwater environment, SEA’s Underwater Acoustic Modelling Toolset software will be enhanced with AComms performance prediction and will evolve to mission needs by responding to variations in requirement and operational scenario constraints. The toolset provides performance prediction to enable optimisation of the acoustic system in complex ocean environments. It uses high resolution environmental input data and sophisticated acoustic modelling to maximise performance by enhancing sensor placement and frequency band for the prevailing environment.
Rheinmetall Destinus Strike Systems sets out its program priorities: At Eurosatory 2026 in Paris, the European joint venture Rheinmetall Destinus Strike Systems set out its priorities. The joint venture is accelerating the introduction of the Ruta Block 3 – a cruise missile for strategic deep strike with a range of over 2,000 kilometers and a warhead of up to 250 kilograms – and begins production with its initial products, the Kryla and Ruta Block 2 cruise missiles. The Ruta Block 3 is designed for high-value and hardened targets at depth and is launched exclusively from standard containers, which can be carried on vehicle platforms – including Rheinmetall HX trucks – and in maritime applications. Firing readiness is reached in around 2 minutes. The objective is NATO qualification, making the Ruta Block 3 available to all NATO and EU member states. Joint production begins with the joint venture’s two initial products. Kryla is a compact, cost-efficient cruise missile with a 50 kg warhead for massed saturation strikes; it launches from containers and from common rocket artillery launchers (MLRS), immediately adding a cruise-missile capability to existing launcher fleets. Ruta Block 2 carries a 250 kg warhead, is designed for high target effect against high-value and hardened targets and is launched exclusively from containers.
