Babcock Australasia, a defence, aerospace and security company, announced the appointment of Brad Yelland to the position of Executive Director, Engineering and Technology. This newly created position demonstrates Babcock’s commitment to engineering excellence, the advancement of engineering capability, and engineering career development in the region.
Yelland’s appointment builds upon his highly-regarded, global career spanning all phases of the engineering life-cycle – from research and development through to in-service-support – and it signals Babcock’s growing capability presence in the region. This capability includes areas such as high frequency communications, complex asset management, systems integration, and engineering and through-life-support.
Babcock’s Australasian executive team was recently further reinforced by the appointment of Martin Halloran as Executive Director, Strategy and Future Business. Halloran and Yelland will play important regional senior leadership roles as Babcock secures further export contracts for its Arrowhead 140 frigate and supports the Australian government in the transition to nuclear powered submarines and sustainment.
