Exail.comThe Chief of the Defence Force Parade at the Australian Defence Force Academy (ADFA) has marked the culmination of familiarisation training for first year future leaders. Chief of Defence Force, General Angus Campbell, AO, DSC, reviewed the parade, which served as an opportunity for ADFA Trainee Officers to display newfound discipline, teamwork, and resilience to their families, friends and the community.

General Campbell said the parade is a proud moment for the Trainee Officers, along with their families, as it signifies commitment and dedication to their future careers in the Australian Defence Force (ADF). “ADFA is committed to developing future leaders who possess the necessary skills, knowledge, and values to serve the nation with distinction,” General Campbell said. “I congratulate the 356 Midshipmen and Officer Cadets on this important milestone in their journey to the next stage of training and education at ADFA. ADFA provides higher education and military training, and it is one of many pathways to a career that offers ongoing investment in the development of our people.”

The 2024 intake of 338 Trainee Officers from across Australia is one of the largest ADF cohorts to commence ADFA; they are joined by 18 international trainee officers from partner nations including Fiji, Malaysia, New Zealand, Pakistan, Philippines, Singapore Thailand and Vietnam.

Over the past four weeks, Trainee Officers participated in a range of activities to introduce them to the military environment, develop their physical fitness, and provide a solid foundation for a successful and fulfilling career in the ADF. The Trainee Officers will now commence tertiary studies at the University of New South Wales Canberra, co-located with ADFA, in conjunction with ongoing military training.
