parari24 728x90KBR has announced that it achieved the Operative Date contractual milestone for the Capability Life Cycle Management of the Royal Australian Navy’s (RAN) Amphibious and Replenishment Ship fleet.

Just two months since contract signing, KBR has recruited and onboarded a highly skilled team of 100 people based at Fleet Base East, while coordinating a progressive hand over of the fleet care as well as planning the management of fleet sustainment over the five-year contract period.

This Capability Life Cycle Management (CLCM) sustainment program includes multiple asset classes – the Landing Helicopter Dock Ships HMAS Adelaide and HMAS Canberra, Landing Ship Dock HMAS Choules and, from July 2025, the Auxiliary Oiler Replenishment Ships HMAS Supply and Stalwart.

For more than two decades KBR has provided the RAN with strategic asset management planning, engineering design effort and supply chain optimisation to support a more affordable and operationally available fleet.

Over the next five years the team will contribute to the continued development and growth of the nation’s sovereign maritime sustainment capabilities through the stewardship of these critical fleet assets which are core to Australia’s maritime and joint forces operational effectiveness.

KBR Vice President Government Solutions APAC Nic Maan said: “The effort and commitment of the team in meeting the 1 July Operative Date is a big achievement. It reflects the behaviour and values that will be integral to ensuring that this sustainment model realises its full potential and also our ambition to deliver the strategic asset management services required by the Navy as a long term and trusted partner.”

The CLCM model is one that fosters a more collaborative and transparent approach between the RAN and KBR which reflects the aspiration of Defence’s Plan Galileo and the Maritime Sustainment Model.
