Defence is boosting its commercial skillset with the engagement of two experienced, senior executives in the Capability Acquisition and Sustainment Group (CASG).
Ms Francesca Rush joins Defence as Commercial General Counsel in Defence Legal Services, and Mr Martin Halloran as Head Australian Industry Capability.
Minister for Defence Industry, the Hon Melissa Price MP, said Mr Halloran’s role was a new position within CASG and he would be tasked with delivering even better outcomes for Australian industry at an unprecedented time of investment.
“Our record investment in Defence capability needs to be backed by people with the expertise and networks to drive the best possible outcomes,” Minister Price said.
“Small businesses make up the overwhelming majority of our defence industry, and it’s important they are supported and engaged by Defence.”
Mr Tony Fraser, Deputy Secretary CASG welcomed the new appointments.
“Ms Rush has the expertise to build on the strong foundation developed during the First Principles transformation,” Mr Fraser said.
“Mr Halloran has an excellent grounding in defence industry and the engagement experience to shape the implementation of our Defence Industry Policies.”
