Quickstep use this oneNova Systems is continuing to build its Australian supply chain and has reached a milestone 300 subcontractor companies, enabling Australian Small and Medium Enterprises to partner with the Department of Defence on projects of national significance. More than 90 percent of these are wholly Australian owned and controlled, totalling more than 1,110 local jobs. The 300th company to come on-board is Queensland-based Revolution Aerospace – a start-up with a mix of both service and product offerings focused on autonomous vehicle solutions.

“Nova has an extensive network into Defence and other industries,” Revolution Aerospace co-founder and CEO, Dr Terry Martin, said. “We believe the opportunity to access Nova’s panels and networks alleviates a fairly big business development burden for our company and allows us to concentrate on delivering capability to our clients.”

Nova leads one of four Major Service Providers (MSP) consortiums to the Capability Acquisition & Sustainment Group (CASG) in partnership with QinetiQ and PwC, and also delivers independent services to CASG and the Department of Defence through other contracting mechanisms. Through these arrangements, Nova provides its clients with access to the best of the Australian industrial base which, when combined with the company’s own strengths, enables delivery of turnkey solutions to the client.

“Nova Systems has been building sovereign capability for more than 20 years. We have gone through the journey of being an SME and understand the needs of our supply chain and how we can help them grow, which only strengthens Australian industry,” said Nova Group CEO Jim McDowell. “Through our local subcontractor network, we are bringing together a concentration of Australian defence capabilities, enabling us to scale our offerings, creating more choice for the Australian Defence Force,” said McDowell.
