RYAN AEROSPACE is marking its 20th anniversary this month and celebrating two decades of growth in the aerospace and defence training and simulation industries. Founded in 2005 by Managing Director Chris Ryan, the company began as a modest startup in regional New South Wales and has evolved into a world-renowned award-winning business headquartered on Queensland’s Gold Coast. Today, RYAN AEROSPACE is one of the largest volume suppliers of flight simulators to the US military. The company’s simulators serve military and commercial aviation clients across the globe.
“This milestone is not just about longevity – it’s a tribute to the journey, the people, and the partnerships that have defined our success,” said Chris Ryan, acknowledging longstanding collaborations with US-based partners Vertex Solutions and Precision Flight Controls. “We’re incredibly proud of what we’ve built and even more excited about the future, as we continue pushing the boundaries of simulation technology”, he added.
Over the past two decades, RYAN AEROSPACE has delivered more than 600 flight training simulator systems across six continents, supported military pilot training programs, and advanced immersive training technologies in partnership with leading global players. Flagship products such as the HELIMOD and Immersive Training Device (ITD) series, have set new benchmarks in modular, reconfigurable and scalable flight simulation systems.
Ryan credits his early passion for flight and flight simulation to a formative gift: a Commodore 64 computer loaded with Microsoft Flight Simulator 2.0, given to him by his parents, Barry and Margaret, in 1985. Combined with flying lessons in his father’s Cessna 172, the experience ignited a fascination that would eventually become RYAN AEROSPACE.
