Singapore’s Defence Science and Technology Agency (DSTA) and Germany’s Junghans Microtec GmbH (JUNGHANS Defence) have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) to drive innovation in fuze technology and build up the sustainability of systems used by the Singapore Armed Forces (SAF). The agreement taps on JUNGHANS Defence’s expertise in the design and supply of fuzes to explore use cases for various military applications for the SAF, as well as ensuring that these systems remain effective and reliable in the long term.
The MOU also strengthens the set-up of local technical support and talent development initiatives through project attachments with JUNGHANS Defence. DSTA engineers will get opportunities to hone their technical competencies in advanced fuze technology through exchange of knowledge and insights with JUNGHANS Defence’ tech experts.
DSTA’s Deputy Chief Executive (Operations), Mr Roy Chan said, “Amid global uncertainties, this collaboration aims to strengthen our resiliency, ensuring our systems can be sustained locally.
