SeoulSoldier On has announced the appointment of Amy Cooper as Chief Executive Officer  commencing on 6 March 2023.

Soldier On Chairman, Lieutenant General Peter Leahy AC (Ret’d), welcomed Cooper’s appointment following an extensive and extremely competitive selection process. “Ms Cooper is a skilled and accomplished leader who has worked in both the government and private sectors. She brings a wealth of experience across a range of sectors including health, aged care, disability, higher education, government, non-profit, charity, and community services,” he said.

Prior to joining Soldier On, Cooper was the CEO of the Hunter Valley Wine & Tourism Association. She has held executive and board positions with national peak bodies, member-based professional associations and health charities.

“Ms Cooper’s appointment marks an important new chapter for Soldier On as demand for Soldier On’s services increase and the Royal Commission into Defence and Veteran Suicide concludes,” Leahy said. Leahy extended his gratitude to Prue Slaughter for her role as Interim CEO over the past 12 months. “Prue’s strong leadership and her energy throughout this period has been exceptional and the board is delighted she will be continuing with Soldier On as Deputy CEO. The board and I look forward to working with this strong leadership team to continue to drive the critical work with veterans and their families by helping them readjust from service life and thrive into the future,” Leahy said.
