Thales Australia wins RAN’s Adelaide Class Frigate maintenance contract

Thales Australia Ltd has been awarded the Royal Australian Navy’s (RAAN) Adelaide Class guided missile frigate’s (FFG) group maintenance contract.

Under this new contract, Thales will be responsible for the repair and maintenance work of the Navy’s major surface ships.

The contract has been awarded by the Australian Department of Defence (DoD) in July 2014 with a maximum potential value of US$121.69 million (AUD130 million).

This is the second award of the grouped-asset, long-term, performance-based contracts.

The repair and maintenance work on the frigates will be carried out at Navy’s GardenIsland facility in Sydney for an initial period of four and half years.
