Kongsberg Defence & Aerospace (KONGSBERG) has signed a contract with the Danish government for the supply of the Naval Strike Missile Coastal Defence System (NSM CDS). The contract, which has a value of more than EUR 100 million, will provide Denmark with the latest technology and the most modern coastal artillery system in the world.
“The acquisition will enable Denmark to combat modern naval threats from the land and will strengthen the country’s operational capabilities. In addition, it will help increase the NSM CDS’ overall presence from the Baltic Sea to the North Sea,” says Eirik Lie, President of Kongsberg Defence & Aerospace.
The coastal defence system consists of KONGSBERG’s advanced fire control system, the NSM missile and launch pads. Denmark signed a contract for NSM missiles for its frigates earlier this year.
“Denmark’s choice confirms NSM CDS’s position as the leading land-based and mobile coastal artillery solution for NATO allies,” said Kjetil R. Myhra, Executive Vice President Defence Systems, Kongsberg Defence & Aerospace.
With the acquisition, Denmark becomes the 5th nation to acquire the coastal artillery system in NATO, and includes Poland, the USA/US Marine Corps, Romania and Latvia.
KONGSBERG to deliver combat system for 212CD submarines
Kongsberg Defence & Aerospace (KONGSBERG) has signed a contract for the delivery of ORCCA combat system elements to four 212CD submarines for the German Navy and two for Norway. The contract has a total value of NOK 3.5 billion. Earlier in December 2025, the Norwegian government announced plans to acquire two more 212CD submarines, in addition to the four that have already been ordered. The proposal is awaiting formal approval by the Norwegian parliament (Stortinget).
“Following these orders, Norway and Germany will together operate a fleet of 12 modern submarines equipped with the industry’s most advanced combat system. Submarines are an important strategic capability, helping to deter potential adversaries and strengthen the defense of national interests,” said Eirik Lie, President of Kongsberg Defence & Aerospace.
KONGSBERG signed the contract with kta naval systems, which was established to develop combat systems for non-nuclear submarines, and to develop, produce and maintain combat systems for submarines from TKMS. Kta naval systems is a joint venture between TKMS, its Naval Electronic Systems business unit (ATLAS ELEKTRONIK) and Kongsberg Defense & Aerospace.
KONGSBERG to integrate anti-drone system for the Netherlands
Kongsberg Defence & Aerospace (KONGSBERG) has signed a contract with Rheinmetall Air Defence for the delivery of its command and control solution into the Skyranger 30 mobile air defence system. The end customer is the Dutch Ministry of Defence. The contract will secure seamless integration between the Skyranger 30 and the NASAMS and NOMADS air defence systems that the Netherlands procured from KONGSBERG in November 2024. The value of the contract is in the high double-digit million euros.
“Having Skyranger 30 in the same network as NASAMS and NOMADS, with its combat efficient command and control architecture, enables the Netherlands to deploy the most flexible solution in the market covering a wide range of air defence missions, to include countering small and medium size drones,” says Kjetil R. Myhra, Executive Vice President of Division Defence Systems in KONGSBERG.
The Skyranger 30 will also be fully integrated in the KONGSBERG simulation and training solution being delivered to the Netherlands as part of the November 2024 contract.
KONGSBERG to deliver Joint Strike Missiles to US Air Force
The US Government has announced that Kongsberg Defence & Aerospace (‘KONGSBERG’) has been awarded a $240 million firm-fixed-price contract for the Joint Strike Missile for the US Air Force, according to an official statement. The statement reads: “Kongsberg Defence & Aerospace, Kongsberg, Norway, was awarded a $240,904,098 firm-fixed-price contract for the Joint Strike Missile Lot Two production. This contract provides for the purchase of all up rounds with containers, test hardware, and support items being produced under this contract. Work will be performed at Kongsberg, Norway, and is expected to be completed by Nov. 30, 2028. This contract was a sole source acquisition. Fiscal 2024 procurement missile funding in the amount of $137,970,866; and fiscal 2025 procurement missile funding in the amount of $102,933,232, are being obligated at the time of award. Air Force Life Cycle Management Center, Eglin Air Force Base, Florida, is the contracting activity (FA8681-26-C-B002).”
