Serco said it has been recognised as Employer of the Year in the Prime Minister’s National Veterans’ Employment Awards in the large firm category. The annual awards recognise the achievements of Australian organisations that actively recruit, employ and support veterans and partners and create workplaces where they can thrive. Serco has been selected as a finalist for four consecutive years.
The award follows the company’s recognition as a Veteran Employer of Choice by the Department of Veterans Affairs and inducted as a Gold Member in the Defence Reserves Supportive Employer Program by the Australian Defence Force Reserves & Employer Support division.
Serco Defence Managing Director Peter Behrendt said this latest recognition emphasises Serco’s commitment to providing meaningful employment and a supportive workplace for more than 700 veterans. “Being recognised as Veteran Employer of the Year is an incredible honour that underscores out commitment to supporting veterans. Their skills, dedication, and resilience enrich our workforce and we take immense pride in creating a workplace where they can thrive. This recognition reaffirms our dedication to empowering veterans as they transition to civilian careers. As a veteran myself, I am so proud to work alongside 700 fellow veterans for a company that prioritises and acknowledges our service while fostering an environment that supports and values our contributions and unique perspectives.”
