“We’ve been selling ex-Military vehicles for the past 6 years, we’ve also recently sold 6 x Navy ships, but these are the first Aircraft we have had available!” said Colin Werner, General Manager at Australian Frontline Machinery.

“We will be selling 22 x Bell Kiowa Helicopters; 5 x Pilatus PC-9/A “Roulette” Aircraft; 1 x Westland Scout Helicopter; Plus an entire Hangar of Aviation parts & equipment including: Iriquios engines & parts; Kiowa engines & parts; Squirrel parts; Ground Support Equipment; Heritage items & more.”

Emma Anderson, Marketing & Sales Manager at Australian Frontline Machinery explained “The PC-9’s we have for sale are “Roulettes” so it’s a great opportunity to own an Iconic Australian aircraft.”

The Roulettes are the Royal Australian Air Force’s aerobatic display team. They had their first public display at RAAF Base Point Cook in 1970. Roulette displays are flown all around Australia and consist of a number of manoeuvres flown in various formations at low level. They are an extension of formation, aerobatics, low level flying, and airmanship skills, taught to Air Force pilots and developed throughout their career. The Roulettes fly as low as 250 feet (80 m) at speeds of up to 250 knots (460 km/h), and pilots can experience up to 6 ‘G’, or 6 times, the force of gravity during a display. Flying as close as three metres apart, the team showcases the level of visual judgement and hand-eye coordination that pilots in the Air Force are able to achieve. The Kiowa Helicopters were delivered in 1971 replacing the Bell 47G Sioux as an observation / reconnaissance helicopter. The Kiowa was retired from service in 2018 after accumulating more than 480,000 combined flying hours. 1. Hi, Big fan of the aeroplane and the Roulettes. How much did the pc9 go for, are there any left to buy? Figured the RAAF would be selling them off. Would fly it out of Lillydale or Lara. Was wondering if they would be others keen on going in on one of these as a group. I’ve racked up plenty of hours in Chippies and Bulldogs, beats the hell out of golf.

    Thanks,S
